Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell, the law firm created last year in the merger of Houston-based Locke Liddell & Sapp and Chicago-based Lord, Bissell & Brook, has opened an office in Boston with the hiring of a long-time corporate attorney there. Attorney Stephen K. Fogg, who comes to the firm from Day Pitney and was formerly the chair of the business department at Choate, Hall & Stewart, will lead the office, the firm said in a release. Day Pitney was also the product of a law firm merger last year between Day, Berry & Howard and Pitney Hardin. Fogg focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, insurance and other financial matters. Joining Fogg in the office as a partner is Jeffrey Warren, who focuses on some of the same practice areas in addition to corporate compliance and dispute resolution. Warren was previously general counsel for Eaglestone Investment Partners, a private equity fund with offices in Chicago and Los Angeles, and a lawyer at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey. Locke Lord expects to add more Boston attorneys soon, it said in the release. The new office is the firm’s 11th in the U.S. and third in the northeast region, where it also has offices in New York and Washington. Locke Lord, which has 700 lawyers, also has an office in London.
