BGR Holding Vice President Ingrid Belton Henick has jumped to the Cohen Group, the firm run by former Defense Secretary William Cohen. Henick, who started at the Cohen Group earlier this month, has an extensive background in U.S.-India relations. She lobbied on behalf of the Republic of India — as well as Taiwan, Lockheed Martin, and others — while with BGR Holdings (formerly Barbour Griffith & Rogers), which she joined in 2006. BGR reported $280,000 in income from the Republic of India contract at midyear. A Cohen Group spokesman said Henick was unavailable, but passed along a statement from her saying the Cohen Group “has a superior reputation in the marketplace with respect to its India practice and I look forward to growing it further.” The Cohen Group’s registrations show that the group is clearly concentrating on India: Its Web site invites browsers to “discover how we can support your efforts in India.” Cohen himself is a board member of the U.S.-India Business Council, and Henick was once that group’s deputy executive director.
