Los Angeles’ Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has added an international arbitration partner to its New York office. Laurence Shore, who focuses on international arbitration and litigation, was previously at Herbert Smith in London, where he served as global head of the international arbitration practice. “Larry’s 18-plus years of experience in the U.S. and U.K. will be an asset to our team,” Robert Serio, co-managing partner of the New York office, said in a news release. “His dual-qualified background fits the firm’s plan to create a core group of international arbitration lawyers along a London-New York axis.” Shore has served as lead counsel on numerous international arbitration cases under all major arbitral rules. The matters have ranged from disputes about design and construction of refineries to ownership and control of telecommunications ventures to software distribution issues. He graduated with distinction from Emory University School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of Emory Law Journal, and earned master’s and doctorate degrees in history from John Hopkins University. Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has 900 lawyers in 14 offices.
