ARNOLD & PORTER Three attorneys have been promoted to partner in Arnold & Porter’s Washington office, and four associates have been elevated to counsel. Justine Fitzgerald, 39, is counsel in the real estate practice. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Anthony Franze, 37, is counsel in the litigation practice. He earned his J.D. at Notre Dame Law School. Jean Kalicki, 43, is a partner in the litigation and international arbitration practices. She was previously counsel. Kalicki earned her J.D. at Harvard Law School. Joshua Martin, 36, is a partner in the securities enforcement and litigation practice. He was previously an associate. Martin received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Christopher Rhee, 35, is a partner in the securities enforcement and litigation practice. He was previously an associate. Rhee received his J.D. from Yale Law School. Amy Ryan, 41, is counsel in the intellectual property and technology practice. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Michael Rubin, 34, is counsel in the litigation practice. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School.
DEBEVOISE & PLIMPTON Ada Johnson, 37, has been promoted to counsel in the litigation department in the Washington office of Debevoise & Plimpton. She was previously an associate. Johnson earned her J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center.
GENERAL COUNSEL P.C. Stuart Sorkin, 53, has joined General Counsel P.C. in McLean, Va., as counsel. Sorkin will also continue to maintain his own practice, Stuart H. Sorkin P.C., in Bethesda, Md. He focuses mainly on business and transactional matters. Sorkin earned his J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law.
REED SMITH Donald Griswold, 49, is now a partner in the D.C. office of Reed Smith in its state tax practice. He was previously a partner in McDermott Will & Emery’s tax department. Griswold earned his J.D. at Boston University School of Law.
SULLIVAN & WORCESTER Orlando Vidal, 41, has been promoted to partner in Sullivan & Worcester’s D.C. office. He was previously counsel. Vidal practices in the litigation, and legislative and federal affairs groups. He received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
U.S. ATTORNEY’S OFFICE FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA Four assistant U.S. attorneys have joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. Michael DiLorenzo, 39, is in the national security section of the Criminal Division. He joins the office from the narcotic and dangerous drug section of the Criminal Division of the Justice Department. DiLorenzo earned his J.D. at the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Christopher Harwood, 29, is in the Civil Division. He was previously an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York.Harwood earned his J.D. at Cornell Law School. Brian Hudak, 29, is in the Civil Division. He was previously an associate at Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw in New York. Hudak received his J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law. Karen Weiss, 30, is in the domestic violence misdemeanor unit. She joins the U.S. Attorney’s Office from the Child Protection Section of the District of Columbia’s Office of the Attorney General. Weiss earned her J.D. at George Washington University Law School.
VENABLE Andrew Currie, 38, has joined the Washington and Baltimore offices of Venable. He is a partner in the firm’s national bankruptcy practice. He joins the firm from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, where he served as counsel. Currie received his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law. — Marisa McQuilken and W.J. Hennigan
