Clifford Chance has approved a proposal to open an office in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, pending regulatory approval. The firm has had a presence in the United Arab Emirates for 32 years and already has an office in Dubai. Clifford Chance has 28 offices in 20 countries and 3,800 legal advisers. “The decision to apply for a license in Abu Dhabi represents a great opportunity for the firm in one of the fastest growing and most dynamic countries in the region,” Graham Lovett, the firm’s Gulf managing partner, said in a news release. “An office in Abu Dhabi will demonstrate the continued commitment of Clifford Chance to the UAE and the region.” Related article: Firms following the money to Persian Gulf enclave.
