Joseph P. Sullivan, a former New York judge, has joined the New York office of Holland & Knight as of counsel. Sullivan, a former presiding judge of the appellate division of the First Judicial Department in New York City, stepped down as the court’s associate judge on Dec. 31. His career in judicial service dates to 1969, when he was a judge in New York City’s Civil Court. “His extensive judiciary and appellate experience and outstanding reputation throughout New York will allow him to make significant contributions to our clients’ interests in appellate, mediation and arbitration services,” Christopher Kelly, a New York-based partner who chairs the office’s litigation group, said in a news release. Holland & Knight has more than 1,150 lawyers.
