Squire, Sanders & Dempsey announced the appointments of Thomas J. Salerno and Andrew O. Visintin to lead the firm’s international insolvency group. R. Thomas Stanton, chairman of Squire Sanders, lauded the pair for a “sophisticated, thorough understanding of and expertise in international insolvency.” Salerno, based in Phoenix, has worked on restructurings in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Switzerland and the Czech and Slovak Republics. He is a member of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) working group’s Insolvency Reform Project, completed earlier this year. Visintin, managing partner of the firm’s London office, represents a number of UK insolvency practitioners from the “Big Four” and medium-ranked accountancy practices. He also has extensive experience in the asset-based lending and receivables financing sector advising clients on restructuring and financing structures. Squire Sanders’ international insolvency group practice, led by Stephen D. Lerner, includes more than 40 lawyers working in China, six countries in Continental Europe, the United Kingdom, Brazil, the Dominican Republic and the United States.
