BOSTON Prospective Massachusetts jurors can now respond to jury summons notices online. The Massachusetts Office of Jury Commissioner added interactive components this month to a previously information-only site, www.massjury.com. The site now allows jurors to confirm or postpone jury service, request a hardship transfer, or seek disqualifications via the Internet. The commissioners’ office said the site is convenient for jurors and will save return printing and postage costs. The commission hopes most jurors will eventually use the online system to respond to their summonses, said Jury Commissioner Pamela J. Wood. “The website will not only cut costs but will also lead to quicker, more direct services for the juror, such as e-mail reminders and electronic updates on their status,” Wood said. In Massachusetts, 66 courts use jurors and about 7,000 citizens report for jury duty every week.
