LERCH, EARLY & BREWER Nine attorneys have joined Lerch, Early & Brewer in Bethesda, Md. Joel Aronson, 50, is a partner in the firm’s commercial lending and litigation groups. He was previously a partner at Ridberg, Sherbill & Aronson. Aronson received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. April Birnbaum, 26, is an associate in the land use and zoning group. She was previously a law clerk at Rich & Henderson in Baltimore. Birnbaum received her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. Theodore Goldstock, 49, is a partner in the business and taxation and litigation groups. He was previously a partner at Ridberg, Sherbill & Aronson. Goldstock received his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. Michael Neary, 27, is an associate in the employment and labor and litigation groups. He was previously a law clerk for Judge Katherine Savage at the circuit court for Montgomery County, Md. Neary received his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. Emily Rachlin, 26, is an associate in the litigation group. She was previously a law clerk for Judge Mary Ellen Barbera at the Court of Special Appeals in Maryland. Rachlin earned her J.D. at the University of Maryland School of Law. Julie Reddig, 27, is an associate in the employment and labor and litigation groups. She was previously an associate at Niles, Barton & Wilmer. Reddig received her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. Stuart Schwager, 40, is a partner in the business and taxation and litigation groups. He was previously a partner at Ridberg, Sherbill & Aronson. Schwager earned his J.D. at George Washington University Law School. Raymond Sherbill, 52, is a partner in the business and taxation practice. He was previously a partner at Ridberg, Sherbill & Aronson. He earned his J.D. at George Washington University Law School. Alex Tanouye, 32, is an associate in the estate planning and probate groups. He was previously an associate at the Law Office of Virginia A. McArthur. Tanouye received his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law.
MCDERMOTT WILL & EMERY Thomas Repke, 42, has joined McDermott Will & Emery as a partner in the firm’s D.C. life sciences and medical device practice. He joins from Hogan & Hartson, where he was a partner. Repke earned his J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law.
SAUL EWING Two new attorneys have joined Saul Ewing’s Washington office in the intellectual property and technology and life sciences groups. They will also be spending time in the firm’s Baltimore office. Tina Katcheves, 34, is a patent counsel. She was previously managing partner at the patent boutique Travers, Katcheves & Associates. Katcheves earned her J.D. at the University of Oklahoma School of Law. Sandhya Kowdley, 37, is an intellectual property specialist. Prior to joining the firm, she worked on software licensing projects and consulting contracts at Metastorm Inc. and as a trademark specialist at Under Armour Inc. Kowdley earned a law degree in life sciences from the University of Bombay in India and received her L.L.M. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
SONNENSCHEIN NATH & ROSENTHAL Glen Donath, 37, has joined Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal as a partner in the firm’s D.C. litigation group. He joins the firm from the Justice Department, where he was an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. Donath received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
STEPTOE & JOHNSON Larry Katzman, 57, has joined Steptoe & Johnson’s D.C. office as deputy public service counsel. He was most recently an associate director of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. In his new role, Katzman will direct Steptoe’s school partnership programs and work with the firm’s pro bono and training programs. Katzman received his J.D. from Emory University College of Law.
THOMPSON COBURN Syh Ambe, 37, has joined Thompson Coburn as an associate in the firm’s D.C. transportation and international commerce practice. She was previously an associate at Winston & Strawn. Ambe received her J.D. from Howard University School of Law. — Marisa McQuilken
