Events The induction of Lynne A. Sitarskias a Magistrate Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvaniawill take place on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 4 p.m. in the Ceremonial Courtroom of the U.S. Courthouse on Sixth and Market streets in Philadelphia. The newly formed Bar Association of the 3rd Federal Circuitis holding its opening reception on Nov. 26, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., in the lobby of the U.S. Courthouse in Philadelphia. The bar association will be honoring the newest members of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals: Michael A. Chagares, Kent A. Jordanand Thomas M. Hardiman. Annual membership in the bar association is $35 per year, and membership applications can be found on the 3rd Circuit Web site (www.ca3.uscourts.gov). Elected and Appointed Blank Rome partner Lawrence Finkelsteinhas been appointed to the national board of trustees of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America(CCFA). Finkelstein has been an active member of CCFA since 1988, and has served as president and chairman of its Philadelphia/Delaware Chapter. In 2000, he was honored as the chapter’s man of the year. At the firm, where he has been a partner for 25 years, Finkelstein advises clients on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; business succession and related planning for family-owned businesses; equity and debt financing transactions on behalf of lenders (senior and mezzanine), investors and businesses; joint ventures and distribution arrangements; and governance matters.   Kenneth N. Nigon, a shareholder with Ratner Prestia, has been elected treasurer of the 17,000-member American Intellectual Property Law Association(AIPLA). Nigon focuses his practice on patent portfolio development for both U.S. and multinational electronic and computer companies.
