BOSTON Bingham McCutchen lured a Boston Scientific Corp. patent lawyer to its intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution practice group. Scott Bluni, who was formerly Cardiovascular chief patent counsel at the Natick, Mass.-based medical supply company Boston Scientific, joined Bingham as a partner. Bluni’s patent prosecution and intellectual property transactional experience will help Bingham better serve its clients, said Richard Taffet, a New York attorney who co-leads the firm’s intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution practice group. “Scott adds tremendous technology experience to an already strong practice,” Taffet said. While at Boston Scientific, Bluni was involved in obtaining, licensing and enforcing patent and trademarks for the company’s cardiovascular business units. He was also involved in intellectual property-related due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, licenses and asset purchases.
