Hofstra Law School is taking heat from bloggers for including disbarred attorney Lynne Stewart on a panel at an upcoming ethics conference, "Lawyering at the Edge: Unpopular Clients, Difficult Cases, Zealous Advocates." Convicted of helping a terrorist client pass messages to supporters, Stewart was sentenced to 28 months but is free pending appeal. Interim Dean Nora Demleitner defends the choice of Stewart for the panel, saying, "She's a case study on what happens when a lawyer oversteps their bounds."

The theme of Hofstra Law School’s Oct. 14-16 ethics conference is “Lawyering at the Edge: Unpopular Clients, Difficult Cases, Zealous Advocates.”
