Kirkland & Ellis has promoted 62 attorneys to the partnership, including six from its San Francisco office and two from Los Angeles. While the overall total is close to last year’s 64, the L.A. tally is significantly less than last year, when the firm promoted eight attorneys from that office. In San Francisco, the number stayed constant at six. In L.A., the firm promoted Erin Brady, 31, a restructuring attorney who received her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2001; and litigator Rebecca Wahlquist, 38, who attended New York University School of Law, graduating in 2001. In San Francisco, the firm promoted litigator Eliot Adelson, 33, who graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in 1999; corporate attorney Arshad Ahmed, 33, who received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1999; Noah Boyens, 31, a corporate attorney who graduated from Harvard Law School in 2001; corporate attorney David Dixon, 33, who graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1999; Jenny Lee, 31, an intellectual property attorney who graduated from Harvard Law School in 2001; and Laura Rupenian, 34, a corporate attorney who attended Universidad de Buenos Aires, where she received her J.D. in 1996. The promotions were effective Oct. 1.
