In a push to expand its West Coast corporate and securities practice, Reed Smith scooped up three partners for its San Francisco practice. Joining the firm are Catharina Y. Min, from Squire Sanders & Dempsey; Brad DeJean from Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner; and Devin R. Cuyler formerly from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. Min will focus on an international clientele in the area of corporate and securities law from mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and joint ventures. She has experience with Asian clients, particularly Korean companies doing business in the United States and Asia. DeJean will specializes in a range of transactional issues in energy, transportation and housing involving project finance, equipment leasing, to the area of general mergers and acquisitions. Cuyler came from Pillsbury’s Global Sourcing Practice where he focused on global technology transactions, particularly global sourcing, licensing, sales and distribution arrangements. The trio “strengthen the firm’s ability to handle high end deals, mergers and acquisitions and project work worldwide,” said John Iino, firm wide corporate and securities practice group leader. Reed Smith is one of the 15 largest law firms in the world, with more than 1,500 lawyers in 21 offices in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. The addition of Min, DeJean and Cuyler brings a total of five senior corporate attorneys added in the West this year.
