EPSTEIN BECKER & GREEN Leslie Norwalk, 41, has joined Epstein Becker & Green’s D.C. office as a strategic adviser on health policy issues. Norwalk was previously acting administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She also has her own firm, Norwalk and Associates, which will now be affiliated with Epstein Becker & Green. Norwalk earned her J.D. at George Mason University School of Law.
FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION Lisa Monaco has been made chief of staff to the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Robert Mueller. She was previously deputy chief of staff. As an assistant U.S. attorney, Monaco, 39, was a prosecutor on the Enron task force. She earned her J.D. at the University of Chicago Law School.
HUNTON & WILLIAMS Bill Wehrum, 43, has joined Hunton & Williams as a partner in the firm’s D.C. resources, regulatory, and environmental law practice. He comes to the firm from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he was acting assistant administrator for air and radiation. Wehrum earned his J.D. at Widener University School of Law.
JACKSON & CAMPBELL Three associates have joined the D.C. office of Jackson & Campbell. Matthew Berkowitz joins the firm’s real property and asset management group as well as the general litigation group. Berkowitz, 32, was previously a clerk for Judge Michael Farrell of the D.C. Court of Appeals. He earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Ronald Fiesta, 31, joins the firm’s insurance coverage litigation group. He was previously an associate at Leahy, Eisenberg & Fraenkel in Chicago. Fiesta earned his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. David Greenstein joins the firm’s real property and asset management group. He was most recently underwriting counsel at the title insurance company, the Talon Group. Greenstein, 36, received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
MCDERMOTT WILL & EMERY Jason Eig, 35, has joined McDermott Will & Emery as a partner in the firm’s D.C. corporate practice. He was previously an associate at Dickstein Shapiro. He focuses on advising clients in connection with commercial finance and real estate transactions. Eig earned his J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center.
SHAPIRO LIFSCHITZ AND SCHRAM Thomas DiBiase has joined Shapiro Lifschitz and Schram as an associate in the firm’s litigation and trial practice group. DiBiase, 42, was most recently deputy chief in the homicide section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. He received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
STARK, MEYERS, EISLER & LEATHAM Megan Wallace, 39, has joined the Rockville, Md., firm Stark, Meyers, Eisler & Leatham as counsel in its business, estate planning, and zoning and land use practices. She was previously a senior associate at Furey, Doolan & Abell. Wallace received her J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
STRADLEY RONON STEVENS & YOUNG Zachary Knepper, 34, has joined the D.C. office of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young as an associate in the firm’s securities enforcement practice. Prior to joining the firm, Knepper was an associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. He received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.
TOWNSEND AND TOWNSEND AND CREW Two attorneys have joined Townsend and Townsend and Crew in the firm’s D.C. office. Dana Buschmann joins the firm as an associate in its biotechnology and chemistry practice. She was previously an associate at Hunton & Williams. Buschmann, 29, earned her J.D. at Duke University School of Law. Cedric Tan joins as a partner in the firm’s litigation group. He was most recently an associate at Kenyon & Kenyon. Tan, 34, focuses on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical sciences with regard to patent litigation, pre-litigation counseling, and disputes. He received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School.
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY William Evans, 49, has joined the Department of the Treasury as an attorney-adviser in the Office of Benefits Tax Counsel. He was previously a partner at Groom Law Group. Evans received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. — Marisa McQuilken
