LOUISIANA STATE BAR ASSOCIATION Kelly Wilson, manager of Equal Justice Works’ Hurricane Katrina project, was honored by the Supreme Court of Louisiana and the Louisiana State Bar Association this month. As project manager, she helped place 19 attorneys and more than 100 law students with legal aid agencies to assist survivors of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Wilson works in the group’s D.C. office.
NATIONAL CHAMBER LITIGATION CENTER Carter Phillips received the inaugural Lewis F. Powell Award for Business Advocacy given by the National Chamber Litigation Center. The award recognizes a commitment to improving the litigation environment for the business community. Phillips is head of Sidley Austin’s D.C. appellate practice.
WORKING MOTHER Arnold & Porter and Covington & Burling were named to Working Mother magazine’s list of the 100 best companies for working families. They were the only D.C.-based law firms included on the list, which contained four law firms overall. — Marisa McQuilken
