Former U.S. attorney for the district of Nevada, Daniel Bogden, one of eight top federal prosecutors who were fired late last year, has joined McDonald Carano Wilson as a partner. Bogden officially resigned earlier this year. Since then, he has been an outspoken critic of former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, under whose watch he was fired. Congressional officials raised questions after news reports found that Bogden and at least seven other U.S. attorneys were fired under Gonzales’s leadership. Gonzales resigned in late August. Bogden has not been replaced; Acting U.S. Attorney Steven Myhre is serving as head of the District of Nevada. Bogden was the U.S. attorney in Nevada for five and a half years. Before that, he was an assistant U.S. attorney assigned to the organized crime drug enforcement task force in that office for 11 years. At McDonald Carano Wilson, Bogden will focus on litigation and governmental relations and work out the firm’s two offices in Las Vegas and Reno, Nev.
