Boston — Tax lawyer Patrick M. Cox joined Brown Rudnick Berlack Israels as a partner in the firm’s New York office. Cox advises clients on tax issued related to cross-border transactions, M&A, corporate restructuring and reorganization, and real estate. Cox has the experience, legal talent and business savvy to help clients develop tax strategies that will advance their business goals, said Joseph F. Ryan, CEO of the Boston-based Brown Rudnick. “In today’s global economy, corporate transactions are encumbered by increasingly more complex tax implications that require skillful tax planning,” Ryan said. Cox was previously counsel in the tax practice at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in New York. Cox said Brown Rudnick’s strong bankruptcy and corporate restructuring practice, as well as its general corporate law strength, attracted it to the firm.
