Robert Nicholson, former assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, switched to private practice at the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., office of Broad and Cassel. He joins the office’s white collar criminal and civil fraud defense and health law practice groups. As an assistant U.S. attorney, Nicholson investigated and litigated cases that dealt with fraud within government, health care and banking establishments. He first joined the Department of Justice as a trial attorney in the tax division in 1992 and most recently completed an assignment in Washington as the National Health Care Fraud Coordinator. “He brings with him a well-respected profile at the Department of Justice,” said Gabriel Imperato, managing partner of the Fort Lauderdale office, which focuses mainly on white-collar health and corporate law and litigation. Broad and Cassel maintains eight offices throughout the state of Florida.
