AKIN GUMP STRAUSS HAUER & FELD Two partners and one associate have joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld’s intellectual property practice from Sonnenschein Nash & Rosenthal. Kimani Clark, 35, joins as partner. Clark concentrates on software patent law with an emphasis on patent disputes including litigation, cross-licensing, and patent studies. He also devises patent strategies and represents leading computer and software companies. Clark received his J.D. from Stanford Law School. Michael Kiklis, a partner in the firm, practices software patent law. In addition, he works on antitrust issues and how they relate to IP matters for software and computer companies. Kiklis, 44, received his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law. A. Wesley Ferrebee focuses on patent applications and prepares and prosecutes patents in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. An associate with the firm, Ferrebee, 29, has experience in a range of industries, such as computer hardware and software, Internet and wireless technologies, and automated circuit design. He received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law.
BLANK ROME Tara Leiter, 31, has joined Blank Rome as an associate in the firm’s maritime group. She previously served as general counsel to Advanced Communications International Inc., where she advised executives on compliance and regulatory matters. Leiter graduated from the University of Malta, Faculty of Laws, and earned her LL.M. from the International Marine Organization’s International Maritime Law Institute.
FISH & RICHARDSON Daniel Yan has joined Fish & Richardson as an associate in the firm’s litigation group. Yan, 31, concentrates on cases before the International Trade Commission. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate at Howrey in the firm’s San Francisco office. He received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
JACKSON & CAMPBELL Michele Hinerman, 33, has joined Jackson & Campbell as an associate in the general litigation practice group and the real property and asset management practice group. Hinerman focuses on real estate and commercial law. Before joining the firm, Hinerman was an associate at Jordan Coyne & Savits, and she earned her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law.
MCDERMOTT WILL & EMERY Roy Austin, 37, has joined McDermott Will & Emery as a partner in the firm’s trial department. He focuses on civil and white-collar criminal cases. Austin previously served as a senior assistant U.S. attorney in the Department of Justice, where he worked on cases involving money laundering, identity theft, fraud, and homicide. Austin earned his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School.
MCGUIREWOODS Thomas Hitchcock has joined McGuire-Woods as an associate in the firm’s capital markets department. Hitchcock concentrates on capital markets, real estate, and public finance matters. He previously practiced with the Law Offices of Thomas M. Isaacson. Hitchcock, 27, earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
NOVAK DRUCE DELUCA + QUIGG Thomas Isaacson, 38, has joined Novak Druce DeLuca + Quigg as a partner in the firm’s electrical and telecommunications practice. He specializes in intellectual property law with an emphasis on patent prosecution and client counseling. Isaacson earned his J.D. from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School.
WINE AND SPIRITS WHOLESALERS OF AMERICA Kent Huntington, 43, joins the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America as its assistant general counsel. Huntington will focus on litigation coordination throughout the country. He previously served as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in the Civil Division.
