The state of Tennessee could suspend business licenses for companies found to have knowingly employed illegal immigrants under a bill headed to the governor for his consideration. The measure sponsored by Sen. Bill Ketron, R-Murfreesboro, passed the state Senate on Tuesday and was unanimously approved in the House last week. Gov. Phil Bredesen could not be reached for comment about whether he will sign the bill. Under the bill, a company could face a permanent license suspension based on three violations.
