Two years after graduating law school, Connecticut resident Mel Thompson still can't get permission to sit for the state bar exam. His degree, obtained from an Internet correspondence school based in California, was deemed inadequate by the Connecticut Bar Examining Committee, and Thompson filed suit pro se against the state, the CBEC and the Statewide Grievance Committee for the right to be tested. But on March 30, a U.S. District Court judge granted the defendants' motion to dismiss the case.
