The Boston-based firm currently leases 127,000 square feet at 599 Lexington Ave and it plans to move to the during the first quarter of 2008. The Boston-based firm has about 150 lawyers in New York, and it expects to double its New York attorneys within the next eight years, said Boston partner Alexander Randall, who heads of the firm’s real estate committee. “Goodwin Procter is committed to thriving and growing in New York,” Randall said. “Over the past few years, we have added incredible talent and with that growth comes the need for more physical space.” Goodwin will occupy floors 23 through 27 and floors 29 and 30 in the 52-story building. The building is owned jointly by The New York Times Co. and Brooklyn, N.Y.-based real estate developers Forest City Ratner Companies.
