Blank Rome added two new partners to its Hong Kong office: Peter Mills, who was elected partner in the maritime group, and Andrew Hart, who joined as partner in the commercial litigation group. Mills practice focuses on litigation in the maritime industry. Hart joined the firm from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, where he served as partner in its Hong Kong office, advising clients on aspects of dispute resolution in employment, banking, regulatory, insolvency, property, trusts and corporate work. “We are focused on growing our Asia practice, as well as enhancing Blank Rome’s presence in Hong Kong and throughout the Asia market.” said Carl M. Buchholz, managing partner and chief executive officer. “Peter’s international practice in admiralty and maritime law, and Andrew’s experience in commercial litigation, particularly specializing in banking, insolvency, trusts and employment matters, will be great assets to Blank Rome’s strategic growth plan.” Blank Rome opened its Hong Kong office in October 2006, as part of the firm’s combination with the international law firm, Healy & Baillie. In addition to the full-service maritime practice in this jurisdiction, Blank Rome’s Hong Kong office offers practices in litigation, insurance, corporate, financial services, international trade law and notarial services.
