FORMER GOV. PATAKI JOINS CHADBOURNE NEW YORK Former Governor George Pataki has joined Chadbourne & Parke as a counsel focusing on matters involving environmental issues, particularly renewable energy. Pataki, who served as the state’s Republican governor for 12 years before stepping down earlier this year, said in an interview Wednesday that he was drawn to 400-lawyer Chadbourne by its reputation in the area of renewable energy. The firm has been a leader in the representation of companies or investors in the areas of wind, geothermal, biomass and solar power. “I don’t think there’s a firm in the country that has more experience in the area,” said Pataki, who was a strong backer of renewable energy use while governor. Pataki also said he planned to continue to speak out on the issue of renewable energy. The former governor has been often mentioned as possible Republican candidate for president in 2008. Pataki said Wednesday only that he was “going to continue to be very active in the policy debate.”
