SEDGWICK ELEVATES 7 TO PARTNERSHIP RANK

San Francisco-based Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold has elevated seven new partners, including four in California, the firm announced Tuesday.

The litigation-focused firm voted in lawyers in several practice areas, from insurance to product liability.

Kevin Costello, 36, a multifaceted litigator who attended Syracuse University College of Law, made partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

Joseph Gebara, 43, an insurance litigator who attended Brigham Young University Law School, made partner in the Orange County office.

Kathleen Hurly, 40, a labor and employment lawyer who attended University of Baltimore School of Law, and Dennis Rolstad, 42, a health care and insurance lawyer who attended UCLA School of Law, made partner in San Francisco.

The firm’s Dallas and Newark offices were the homes of the other new partners.

K&L GATES VOTES IN 19 NEW PARTNERS

K&L Gates named 19 new partners on Tuesday, three of whom are in California.

Matthew Mangan, 40, an investment management lawyer who attended the University of San Francisco School of Law, made partner in the firm’s San Francisco office.

James Prenton, 35, a corporate lawyer who attended Loyola Law School, was elevated to partner in the Palo Alto office.

Michael Quinn, 38, a securities lawyer who attended Loyola Law School, made partner in the Los Angeles office.

The firm’s hometown Pittsburgh office boasted six new partners, while the Washington, D.C., and New York offices added three apiece. The firm’s London office got two new partners, and Newark and Boston got one each.

The newest piece of the firm, Preston Gates & Ellis, had already elected 15 new partners in November before its merger with Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham was completed last month.
