5 NEW CA PARTNERS FOR DUANE MORRIS Philadelphia-based Duane Morris voted in 13 new partners � five of them in California, the firm announced Wednesday. The firm hadn’t elevated a California lawyer to partner in the past two years. Lina Brenner, 34, a commercial and IP litigator who attended Hastings College of the Law, and Timothy Moppin, 46, an employment lawyer who attended Boalt Hall School of Law, made partner in the San Francisco office. Peter Ackerman, 52, a commercial and insurance litigator who attended Boston University School of Law, made partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Edward Cramp, 35, a business litigator who attended Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law, and James Mercer III, a corporate lawyer who attended the University of Southern California Law School, made partner in the firm’s San Diego office. The firm’s Boston office saw four new partners elevated, hometown Philadelphia saw three, and Atlanta one.

SEDGWICK ELEVATES 7 TO PARTNERSHIP RANK San Francisco-based Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold has elevated seven new partners, including four in California, the firm announced Tuesday. The litigation-focused firm voted in lawyers in several practice areas, from insurance to product liability. Kevin Costello, 36, a multifaceted litigator who attended Syracuse University College of Law, made partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Joseph Gebara, 43, an insurance litigator who attended Brigham Young University Law School, made partner in the Orange County office. Kathleen Hurly, 40, a labor and employment lawyer who attended University of Baltimore School of Law, and Dennis Rolstad, 42, a health care and insurance lawyer who attended UCLA School of Law, made partner in San Francisco. The firm’s Dallas and Newark offices were the homes of the other new partners.
