Pepper Hamilton’s New York office has long been a place where the firm’s attorneys can hold meetings or take depositions. The firm wants to change that. Firm executive partner Robert E. Heideck said Pepper Hamilton decided in the spring to expand and improve its space in New York. The firm has moved its office to 420 Lexington Ave. effective Oct. 16. “We are expanding our capabilities in New York to better serve our international and corporate clients, and to be closer to existing clients in that region,” Heideck said in a statement. “We intend to grow the office deliberately and steadily.” International corporate partner James D. Rosener has agreed to move to the Big Apple to head up the office. He was previously in the firm’s Berwyn, Pa., office. Senior associate Adelene W. Tan has joined Rosener in the office. The New York office will focus in the beginning on the firm’s international work and cross-border transactions, private equity, corporate restructuring and other corporate work. Rosener’s practice focuses primarily on international transactions, mergers and acquisitions, licensing and acquisition of intellectual property, and corporate financing. Tan’s practice focuses on corporate and securities work. Robert S. Hertzberg, co-chairman of Pepper Hamilton’s corporate restructuring and bankruptcy practice group and a partner in the Detroit office, will be spending a portion of his time in New York and will lead the expansion of the corporate restructuring practice there.
