FOX ROTHSCHILD, GROTTA GLASSMAN TO MERGE NEWARK, N.J. Fox Rothschild of Philadelphia will merge with Grotta, Glassman & Hoffman, a 60-lawyer management-side labor firm in Roseland, N.J., effective Oct. 1. The move not only brings Fox Rothschild a labor practice with a roster of corporate clients ripe for cross-selling but also provides established offices in cities where the 300-lawyer firm wishes to expand. Grotta, Glassman has offices in New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Grotta, Glassman will likewise benefit from new locations. Fox Rothschild has, besides Philadelphia and Princeton offices, branches in Atlantic City, Pittsburgh, Wilmington, Del., and West Palm Beach. The Atlantic City location was especially appealing to Grotta Glassman lawyers who represent most of the casinos there in labor matters. Founded in 1966, Grotta, Glassman has a national management-side labor and employment practice, both in compliance and in litigation. Clients include Avis, Aztar, Bally, The Blackstone Group, Carlyle Group, Cendant and Harrah’s. The merger makes Grotta, Glassman part of an Am Law 200 firm. Last June, The American Lawyer ranked Fox Rothschild as the nation’s 160th top-grossing law firm, with revenues of $128.5 million and revenue per lawyer of $495,000 for fiscal year 2005. With about 360 lawyers after the merger, combined revenues could surpass $175 million.
