Due to an editing error, an Aug. 23 Practice Center said the new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure for electronic discovery will take effect Dec. 1. The story should have added that Congress retains the power to modify them before they take effect.

Due to a reporting error, the Aug. 29 story “Feds Blame Defense in Eavesdrop Flap” incorrectly stated that federal prosecutors “never opposed” a defense motion to suppress evidence in a gun case. In fact, the government earlier this year did oppose the defendant’s initial motion to suppress, but did not oppose a supplemental motion to suppress filed in August.

We regret the errors.
