On Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 5:30 p.m., the Public Interest Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association will hold a reception to announce the winners of scholarships to the 2006 bar association Bench-Bar Conference, which will be held at the Tropicana Casino and Resort, in Atlantic City, N.J., on Sept. 29 and 30. On Monday, Sept. 18, SeniorLAW Center will present a pro bono CLE program titled Personal Planning for Senior Citizens from noon to 2:15 p.m. at Cozen O’Connor, 1900 Market St., fifth floor, Philadelphia. Attendees are expected to handle at least one pro bono case for SeniorLAW Center. The program is free and two CLE credits are anticipated. On Tuesday, Sept. 26, the Education Law Center will present a CLE pro bono training program titled School Discipline, at Duane Morris, 30 South 17th St., Philadelphia, from noon to 2 p.m. This program will provide training on relevant education law and practical techniques in representing students in discipline hearings. The course will cover federal and state laws as well as significant court cases concerning school discipline and other education laws. Two CLE credits available ($3 charge for CLE credits anticipated). The program is open to all attorneys and is free in exchange for handling one pro bono case referred by the Education Law Center.
