ARNOLD & PORTER Two counsel have joined Arnold & Porter’s intellectual property practice. Anna Manville, 45, came to the firm from an intellectual property law firm in Minneapolis, where her practice encompassed all aspects of U.S. and international trademark law. She earned her J.D. from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Suet Chong, 39, focuses on patent prosecution and counseling in the area of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. She received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
BUCHANAN INGERSOLL Ralph Thomas, 56, has signed on as special counsel in Buchanan Ingersoll’s government contracts section. Thomas served as the assistant administrator for small and disadvantaged business utilization at NASA for the past 13 years. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
HARRIS, WILTSHIRE & GRANNIS Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis has named Mike Nilsson, 35, an associate. Formerly a legislative aide to Sen. John Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), Nilsson focuses on communications law — specifically, satellite broadcast, digital transmission, and cable issues. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
HOLLAND & KNIGHT Holland & Knight has elevated nine attorneys to partner. Christopher Camarra, 33, is a member of the firm’s real estate section and focuses on commercial real estate financing, acquisitions, sales, and office and retail leasing. He received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Steven Dube, 39, as a member of the firm’s real estate section, focuses on the development of residential, commercial, and mixed-use condominium and cooperative regimes, as well as the financing, acquisition, and sales of property. He earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law. Dirk Haire, 38, is a member of the firm’s litigation section and focuses on construction law and government contracts, representing owners and contractors in virtually all phases of both the public and private sectors of the construction industry. He received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. Lloyd Jordan, 50, is a member of the firm’s government section and focuses on public law issues involving municipal and regulatory entities, real estate, business transactions, and insurance law. He received his J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law. Rafe Petersen, 35, works in the firm’s government section and practices primarily in environmental compliance and litigation, with an emphasis on the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and resource issues. He received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. Paul Pompeo, 42, focuses on government contract law as part of the firm’s litigation section. He received his J.D. from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Leo Rydzewski, 37, who has joined the firm’s litigation section, concentrates on intellectual property, media, and real estate litigation. He received his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law. Lisa Tofil, 40, a member of the firm’s government section, focuses her practice on federal relations and policy in health care, transportation, and education issues. She earned her J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law. Hongjun Zhang, 40, who joined the firm’s business section, is a Chinese law specialist, advising clients on government relations and regulatory market access investment, and trade strategies in Asia. He received his doctorate of law from Peking University.
LATHAM & WATKINS Lawrence West, 54, has come aboard as a partner in Latham & Watkins’ litigation department. West was previously an associate director of the Division of Enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School.
NOVAK DRUCE DELUCA & QUIGG Marvin Motsenbocker, 52, has joined Novak Druce DeLuca & Quigg as a partner, practicing in the life sciences field. Motsenbocker was previously with Heller Ehrman. He received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law.
O’MELVENY & MYERS O’Melveny & Myers has named three new partners. Benjamin Bradshaw, 36, works in the adversarial department’s antitrust and competition practice. He received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. Jessica Miller, 37, is part of the litigation department’s class action defense practice. She received her J.D from Georgetown University Law Center. Barbara Stettner, 43, is a member of the litigation department’s SEC section. She earned her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law.
STEPTOE & JOHNSON Three attorneys at Steptoe & Johnson have been promoted to partner. Jeffrey McFadden, 48, is a member of the litigation section, where he focuses on securities litigation and enforcement, white-collar crime, corporate internal investigations, and civil litigation. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Eric Serron, 48, who practices in the litigation section, works primarily on employee benefits, with a particular emphasis in Employee Retirement Income Security Act litigation and fiduciary responsibility issues. He received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Libretta Stennes, 33, is also a member of the litigation section, where she practices primarily in toxic tort defense, insurance coverage areas, and general civil litigation.
