GOVERNOR APPOINTS 3 TO JUDICIAL POSTS SAN JOSE � Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed a deputy district attorney, a federal public defender and a court commissioner to the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday. Craig Richman, a 47-year-old Republican from Chatsworth, has been a deputy with the Los Angeles DA’s office since 1986. A graduate of the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law, Richman fills a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Gregory O’Brien Jr. Maria Stratton, a 52-year-old Democrat from Los Angeles, has served as the federal public defender for the Central District of California since 1993. Before that, Stratton was a partner with Talcott, Lightfoot, Vandevelde, Woehrle & Sadowsky from 1985-93. A graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law, Stratton fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Floyd Baxter. Christina Hill, a 54-year-old Democrat from Los Angeles, has been a commissioner with the Los Angeles County Superior Court since 1998. She was also a senior litigator for the State Bar’s Office of Trial Counsel from 1982-87. A graduate of Southwestern University School of Law, Hill fills the vacancy created by Judge Phillip Argento. � Julie O’Shea
