SAN FRANCISCO Solo practitioner James Arnold has been named secretary of the Section of Environment, Energy & Resources of the American Bar Association. He is a 1971 graduate of Hastings College of the Law. Patricia Meagher was elected vice chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Public Contract Law. Meagher, who is with Rossi & Meagher, has practiced in the areas of government contract law and construction law in San Francisco for more than 20 years. Foley & Lardner has added Traci Ropp and Gurjeev Sachdeva to its San Francisco office. Both come to the firm from Dorsey & Whitney. Ropp, an associate, received her J.D. from Hastings College of the Law in 2001. Sachdeva, who is senior counsel, is a 1993 graduate of Tulane Law School. Retired Napa County Superior Court Judge W. Scott Snowden has joined JAMS. Snowden will specialize in commercial, insurance, professional negligence, real estate and general tort disputes. He graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1971. SOUTH BAY Associate Karen Flick and senior counsel Antoinette Konski have joined Foley & Lardner’s Silicon Valley office. Flick, who comes to the firm from Fish & Richardson, is a 2002 graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law. Konski, who was previously with Bingham McCutchen, received her J.D. in 1988 from Fordham University School of Law. EAST BAY James Duncan has joined Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean in Oakland as a senior associate. Duncan, who comes to the firm from Meyers, Nave, Riback, Silver & Wilson, graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1989. Sky Woodruff was named city attorney and Elizabeth Silver was named assistant city attorney of Oakley. Both are currently partners at Meyers, Nave, Riback, Silver & Wilson in Oakland. Silver, who also serves as city attorney for Dublin, is a 1974 graduate of Hastings College of the Law. Woodruff received his J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1998. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker announced the integration of Tokyo’s Taiyo Law Office into the firm. As a result of the integration, Norifusa Hashimoto, Yoshi Takatori, Jun Usami and Ayako Kawano are joining Paul, Hastings as partners. Orange County partner Geoffrey Willis has been named chair of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold’s land use and natural resources practice group. Willis is a 1986 graduate of Hastings College of the Law.
