BUCKLEY KOLAR Robert Serino, 64, has joined Buckley Kolar as counsel. His practice focuses on supervision, regulation, enforcement, and regulatory relations issues related to the financial services industry. Previously, he was deputy chief counsel at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Administrator of National Banks. He graduated from Suffolk University Law School.
DRINKER BIDDLE & REATH Ronald Grudziecki has joined Drinker Biddle & Reath as a partner in the intellectual property group. Previously a partner, chair of the executive committee, and chair of the litigation practice group at Burns, Doane, Swecker & Mathis (now Buchanan Ingersoll), Grudziecki, 65, has a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
GREATER WASHINGTON BOARD OF TRADE Nancy Reed, 44, has been appointed a director of government relations for the Greater Washington Board of Trade. She will assist the Board of Trade president and vice president in managing Northern Virginia state and local government relations. Reed, who was vice president of government affairs for the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, received her law degree from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
MILLER & CHEVALIER Gary Quintiere, 60, has rejoined Miller & Chevalier as a partner in the tax department. Quintiere’s practice centers on executive compensation and employee benefits matters in the tax and ERISA areas. Formerly a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Quintiere received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
MUTUAL FUND DIRECTORS FORUM Two lawyers recently joined the staff of the Mutual Fund Directors Forum. Martha Peterson serves as executive vice president and is responsible for developing and coordinating educational and other outreach programs for mutual fund directors. In addition, she works on facilitating opportunities for forum members to share their experiences with one another and with elected officials and regulators. Peterson, 42, had been a counselor to former Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman William Donaldson. She received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. Carolyn McPhillips, 31, came aboard as counsel. She had been an associate at Dechert until January 2003 and was most recently a schoolteacher in Naples, Italy, where her husband was stationed as a member of the U.S. Navy JAG Corps. She received her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
PRESTON GATES ELLIS & ROUVELAS MEEDS Scott Aliferis, 38, has joined Preston Gates Ellis & Rouvelas Meeds as a government affairs analyst in the policy practice, where he is focusing on Michigan policy issues. He was a director of government affairs for the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers.
SONNENSCHEIN NATH & ROSENTHAL Elaine Kolish has been hired by Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal as a partner in the antitrust and marketing practices group. Previously, Kolish, 50, was associate director for enforcement with the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. She received her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law.
STRASBURGER & PRICE Douglas Jacobson, 44, has joined Strasburger & Price as an of counsel in the international practice area. He specializes in international trade. Jacobson, who continues to be a partner at the Law Offices of Douglas N. Jacobson, has a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. — Hilary Lewis
