Mr. Siskind's editorial was informative about the distinctions that "conservatives" draw between themselves ["In Search of Those 'Conservative' Judicial Nominees," April 29]. However, he failed to explain why "liberals" should care about such broad distinctions rather than the fact that individuals who fall wholly into any of such categories are outside the mainstream values of the American public.
