DUANE MORRIS Barry Golob, 43, has joined Duane Morris as a partner in its intellectual property practice group. Previously he was a partner at Arent Fox. Golob received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. GARVEY SCHUBERT BARER Erwin Krasnow, 69, previously of counsel at Garvey Schubert Barer, has been elected partner and named chair of the firm’s communications and media law group. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center. GEORGETOWN LAW Associate Dean Wallace Mlyniec, 59, who leads Georgetown University Law Center’s legal clinics and public service programs, is returning to the school’s faculty. He will teach in the Juvenile Justice Clinic. Mlyniec is a graduate of the law school. HUNTON & WILLIAMS Hunton & Williams has hired seven attorneys in energy-related fields in its D.C. office. Patrick McCormick III, 48, joins as a partner in the regulated industries and governmental relations practice group. Previously he was managing partner of Balch & Bingham’s D.C. office. He graduated from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Sean Cunningham, 38, is a partner in the regulated industries and governmental relations practice group. Previously he was also a partner at Balch & Bingham. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Frederick Eames, 40, is a partner in the regulated industries and governmental relations practice group. He was also a partner at Balch & Bingham and received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. David Dardis, 32, is an associate in the regulated industries and governmental relations practice group. He received his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law. William Cooper III, 45, is a partner in the government relations team. Previously, he was counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Thomas Trimble, 45, is a partner in the project development, finance, and leasing group. He focuses on the energy and telecommunications industries. Previously, he was a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. SALLIE MAE The SLM Corp., better known as Sallie Mae, has promoted four attorneys in its legal department. Robert Lavet, 50, has been promoted to senior vice president and general counsel. He was formerly senior vice president and deputy counsel. He oversees legal work at Sallie Mae and its affiliates, as well as corporate compliance and servicing policy. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Eric Reicin, 35, has been promoted to vice president and associate general counsel. He manages Sallie Mae’s legal support for its debt-management and IT divisions. He also serves as chief labor, employment, and intellectual property attorney. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law. Michael Sheehan, 48, has been promoted to vice president and deputy general counsel. Previously, he was a vice president of Sallie Mae’s Student Loan Marketing Association. He graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Andrew Wachtel, 49, has been promoted to vice president and associate general counsel. He manages loan purchase transactions and servicing for Sallie Mae.
