MINORITY CORPORATE COUNSEL ASSOCIATION Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto, a New York-based law firm with a D.C. office, has been selected as the 2004 Thomas L. Sager Award winner for the northeast region by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. The award is given to law firms and companies that demonstrate sustained commitment to improving the hiring, retention, and promotion of minority and women attorneys. This is the second time in three years that the firm has received this award. NATIONAL CAPITAL BUSINESS ETHICS AWARDS Jonathan Forster, a partner in Greenberg Traurig’s Tysons Corner, Va., office, has been elected chairman of the National Capital Business Ethics Awards. Forster was chairman of the judging committee and is a board member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, a co-sponsor of the awards. In his new position, Forster will oversee all the activities associated with the 2005 awards, which recognize businesses outside the financial services industry that exemplify a strong commitment to excellence and high standards of civic and social responsibility. U.S. COURT OF FEDERAL CLAIMS Lewis Wiener, a partner at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, has been honored with both the U.S. Court of Federal Claims Golden Eagle Award and the Court of Federal Claims Bar Association’s Randolph Thrower Award. The former award recognizes distinguished service to the court, and the latter (named in honor of a Sutherland partner who was the first president of the bar association) recognizes exceptional service to the bar association.
