San Francisco O’Melveny & Myershas added Rohit Khannaas an associate in the litigation department. Khanna joins the firm from the Democratic National Committee, where he was executive director of the Indo-American Leadership Council. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2001. O’Melveny also has added seven first-year associates: Laura Altieri, Boalt Hall School of Law; Catrine Gellar Brown, UCLA School of Law; Katie Colendich, University of Washington School of Law; Christopher Hales, Yale Law School; Trey Rees, American University Washington College of Law; Jeffrey Wolf, Hastings College of the Law; and Jennifer Wang, Harvard Law School. Preston Gates & Ellishas named nine new partners, including one in San Francisco, Julie Treppa.Treppa works in the firm’s tax, trusts and estates practice, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, venture capital investments, tax credit investments and executive compensation. She is a 1995 graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law. Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffelitigation partner Gregory Evanshas been elected to the national board of directors of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. Evans began working for the group in 1990, helping to litigate a large housing discrimination case in the Coachella Valley. Evans also is the head of the S.F. office’s diversity committee. He graduated from Notre Dame Law School in 1989. Southern California Cotkin, Collins & Ginsburghas added Carl “Ed” Langhammer Jr.as a partner in Los Angeles. Langhammer joins the firm from Hogue & Langhammer in Pasadena. He has a diverse practice as a business attorney and litigator advising and representing clients in a variety of business and commercial transactions and employment matters. He is a 1981 graduate of the University of Southern California Law School.
