When researching our annual California 40 project, one of the things we do is put together a list of each law firm’s leaders. We were surprised this year to find that only two of California’s 40 top-grossing law firms had installed new leaders in the past year. Then again, we shouldn’t have been too surprised. 2003 was a good year for most law firms — definitely not the kind that leads to palace coups. The overwhelming majority of firms saw a modest or even robust increase in revenue last year. Related charts:
