San Francisco Jeffrey Kirschenbaum has joined Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Youngeras a partner. Previously with Berg & Parker, Kirschenbaum is an experienced litigator who handles a wide range of complex commercial disputes. He received his J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1988. Gordon & Reeshas added Bruce Boyd as a partner in its business transactions group. Boyd’s focus is real property and partnership law, debt, lease and equity restructuring, domestic and international business transactions, corporate, M&A, joint ventures and project finance law. Previously at McKenna Long & Aldridge, he is a 1973 graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law. Cydney Tune , counsel at Pillsbury Winthrop, has been elected to serve a four-year term as a trustee of the Copyright Society of the USA. Tune, who practices intellectual property, copyright, trademark, entertainment, licensing and e-commerce law, was selected at the organization’s annual meeting this month. A CSUSA trustee acts much like a director, meeting multiple times a year to pass resolutions regarding the operation of the society. South Bay Michael Kalkstein , a partner in the Palo Alto office of Dechert, has been elected to the board of directors of the Northern California chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Kalkstein is a longtime Silicon Valley litigator and judge pro tem in the Santa Clara County Superior Court. The NACD is a Washington, D.C.-based organization that serves the corporate governance needs of corporate boards and individual board members. East Bay Archer Norrishas added Susan French as an associate in its Walnut Creek office. Before joining Archer Norris, French worked with Riverstone Resources in Manchester, N.H., as a claims manager supervising outside asbestos counsel. She is a graduate of Loyola Law School. Renee Peters has been elevated to partner at Rudloff Wood & Barrowsin Emeryville. Peters’ practice emphasizes property and casualty insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. She has practiced with the firm since its formation in 1998. Peters received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1996. Sacramento Downey Brandhas added two associates, Priscilla Hayes Nielson and Philip Darke , to its litigation practice. Nielson previously was assistant public defender in Ada County, Idaho, and is a graduate of UCLA School of Law. She will be practicing out of the firm’s Reno office. Darke comes to the firm from Rogers & Hardin in Atlanta. He received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law. Southern California Morrison & Foersterhas added a corporate partner, Scott Stanton , to its San Diego office. Stanton is a corporate, securities and M&A lawyer who formerly was a partner at Gray Care Ware & Freidenrich. He received his J.D. from UC-Davis’ King Hall School of Law in 1993. Christina MacNeil has joined ArcherNorris’ Los Angeles office as an associate. She comes to the firm from Sabaitis O’Callaghan with a practice focusing on defense of premises liability cases and construction defect litigation. MacNeil is a Loyola Law School graduate.
