AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION Georgetown University Law Center professor Robert Drinan, S.J., a former congressman, law school dean, and human rights activist, will be the recipient of the 2004 American Bar Association Medal. The medal recognizes exceptionally distinguished service to the cause of American jurisprudence. Many important legal figures have been recipients of this award, including eight Supreme Court justices. Drinan will receive his award at the ABA National Convention on Aug. 9. ASSOCIATION OF LEGAL ADMINISTRATORS Diana Glazer, human resource and legal recruiting administrator at Hunton & Williams, has earned the official designation of certified legal manager. The Association of Legal Administrators’ Certified Legal Manager Program is a voluntary program where qualified legal administrators can demonstrate, through a comprehensive examination process, a command of the core areas of knowledge identified as key to a legal administrator’s effective job performance. BAR ASSOCIATION OF D.C. Susan Dadio, a partner at Burns, Doane, Swecker & Mathis, was named chair of the Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Section of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. The section is a voluntary organization whose mission is to advance the intellectual property profession on both a national and local level. VIRGINIA STATE BAR Glenn Lewis, founder and chairman of the Lewis Law Firm, was the recipient of the Family Law Lifetime Achievement Award from the Virginia State Bar.
