AMERICAN CONSTITUTION SOCIETY Lisa Brown, 44, has been named the new executive director of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy. Brown was the acting executive director for nine months prior to her appointment. She graduated from the University of Chicago Law School. BAKER & MCKENZIE J. Christopher Groobey, 38, has joined Baker & McKenzie as a partner in the banking, finance, and major projects practice. He specializes in project finance, structured finance, and asset-based transactions in the energy industry. Most recently, Groobey was with Chadbourne & Parke. He graduated from the University of Chicago Law School. COHEN & COHEN Kim Brooks-Rodney, 43, has joined Cohen & Cohen as senior counsel. Most recently, she was managing attorney and in-house counsel for the Hartford Insurance Co. She graduated from American University Washington College of Law. EPSTEIN BECKER & GREEN Minh Vu has joined Epstein Becker & Green as a partner in the labor and employment practice. Vu, 37, was a counselor to Assistant Attorney General Ralph Boyd Jr. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. MAYER, BROWN, ROWE & MAW Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw announces the addition of five intellectual property lawyers from Pillsbury Winthrop. Mark Paulson, 48, a graduate of Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, has joined the firm as a partner. Paul Sharer, 42, also has joined as a partner. He is a graduate of Widener University School of Law. Richard Steinberg, 58, has joined as counsel. He graduated from George Washington University Law School. Susan Brown, 59, the former head of Pillsbury Winthrop’s trade practice group, also has joined as counsel. Brown graduated from American University Washington College of Law. Christopher Beck, 31, has joined as an associate. Beck graduated from George Washington University Law School. MCDERMOTT, WILL & EMERY McDermott, Will & Emery announces the addition of two new partners in the international trade practice group. Michael House, 47, was most recently the co-chair of Kaye Scholer’s international trade group. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Raymond Paretzky, 41, was also with Kaye Scholer, as of counsel. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School. PILLSBURY WINTHROP Jay Tannon, 48, has joined the Northern Virginia office of Pillsbury Winthrop as a partner. Most recently, Tannon was corporate partner, executive committee member, and chair of the international transactions practice at Frost Brown Todd. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. SHEPPARD, MULLIN Roscoe Howard Jr., the former U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., and Mark Nagle, former chief of the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, have both joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton as partners. Howard, 52, received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Nagle, 49, is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. SONNENSCHEIN Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal announces the addition of two new managing directors in its public law and policy strategies group. Elizabeth Prostic, 30, was the chief privacy officer for the Department of Commerce and senior adviser to Secretary Donald Evans. Prostic, who also joins the information security and Internet enforcement group, will graduate from George Washington University Law School in 2005. Sharon Scribner, 31, was most recently the legislative director to Rep. Gene Green (D-Texas). TECHLAW Kevin O’Connor, 43, has joined TechLaw as vice president and director of the litigation support and information management division. Most recently he was senior vice president of sales at Cricket Technologies. TechLaw is a provider of litigation support and information services to law firms. U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE The Department of Justice announces two promotions and three additions in the Public Integrity Section of the Criminal Division. Raymond Hulser has been promoted to deputy chief for policy and administration. Hulser, 41, is a graduate of the the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Brenda Morris, 43, has been promoted to deputy chief for litigation. She is a graduate of Howard University School of Law. Peter Ainsworth has rejoined the section as a deputy chief for litigation. Ainsworth was most recently the chief of the criminal enforcement unit of the United States Trustees Program. Ainsworth, 48, is a graduate of George Washington University Law School. Sabrina Houlton joins as a trial attorney. She was most recently with Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr. Houlton, 32, is a graduate of Stanford Law School. Daniel Schwager also joins as a trial attorney. He was most recently an assistant district attorney in New York County. Schwager, 33, is a graduate of New York University School of Law. WHITE & CASE Sam Alberts has joined White & Case as a partner. His practice focuses on bankruptcy and financial restructuring. Alberts, 39, is a former partner at Akin Gump.
