Barr Pharmaceuticals Acquires Emergency Contraceptive Makers Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc., a pharmaceutical company in Woodcliff Lake, announced last Thursday it paid $21 million for Women’s Capital Corp. of Washington, D.C., which develops reproductive health products for women and makes the emergency contraceptive Plan B. Barr also announced it paid $4.2 million for emergency contraceptive assets and technology from Gyn�tics Inc. of Lawrenceville. Monmouth Real Estate Pays $17.7M for Industrial Building in Tampa Freehold’s Monmouth Real Estate Investment Corp., a real estate investment trust, announced last Monday it paid $17.7 million to Regional Development Group Inc. of Orlando, Fla., for a 170,779-square-foot industrial building in Tampa, Fla. Curtiss-Wright Pays $6.29M for Coatings Business Curtiss-Wright Corp. of Roseland announced last Tuesday it paid $6.29 million for selected assets of a coatings business in Evesham, England, a business unit of The Morgan Crucible Company plc, an industrial manufacturer of carbon, ceramic and magnetic products. Evesham will operate as part of the E/M Coatings business unit of the Metal Treatment segment of Curtiss-Wright. Curtiss-Wright, a producer of motion and flow control applications, was represented by in-house counsel. Canada’s Avotus Pays $3.26M for Formity Solutions of Murray Hill Avotus Corp. of Ontario, Canada, a software developer, announced Feb. 12 it paid $3.26 million for Formity Systems Inc. of Murray Hill, a developer of communications software. Greg Manning Auctions Acquires Three Auction Companies for $2.5M Greg Manning Auctions Inc. of West Caldwell, a global collectibles merchant and auction house network, announced Feb. 19 it paid $2.5 million for the business assets of Bowers and Merena Galleries, Kingswood Coin Auctions and Superior Sports Auctions from Collectors Universe Inc. of Newport Beach, Calif. Spectrum Numismatics International, GMAI’s wholly owned subsidiary, will administer the new companies through GMAI’s coin division. Compiled by Amy E.
