BUCHANAN INGERSOLL Christopher Schwartz has joined Buchanan Ingersoll as a partner in the firm’s commercial litigation practice. Schwartz, 49, was most recently a partner in the D.C. office of Holland & Knight. He is a graduate of New York Law School. GARVEY, SCHUBERT & BARER Garvey, Schubert & Barer has added two new lawyers to its D.C. office. David Shaffer joins the firm as partner. He comes to Garvey, Schubert from Shaffer Rapaport & Schmidt, where he was a founding partner. Shaffer, 44, is a graduate of Stanford Law School. Ronald Schmidt joins the firm as of counsel. He was also a founding partner of Shaffer Rapaport & Schmidt. Schmidt, 37, is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law. KRUPIN O’BRIEN William Ihrke has joined Krupin O’Brien as an associate in its employment law practice. Before joining the firm, he was a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Ihrke, 31, is a graduate of George Washington University Law School. ORRICK, HERRINGTON & SUTCLIFFE Robert Lawrence has joined Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in the firm’s energy and project finance group as a partner in its D.C. office. Lawrence, 47, is the former chair of the environmental practice group at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. SHEPPARD, MULLIN Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton has snagged two more lawyers. Greggory Mendenhall joins the firm as special counsel in the finance and bankruptcy practice. He comes from Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis, where he was a partner. Mendenhall, 58, is a graduate of George Washington University Law School. Robert Magielnicki Jr. joins as an associate in the corporate practice. Formerly an associate at Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy, Magielnicki, 33, is a graduate of Stetson University College of Law. SIDLEY AUSTIN BROWN & WOOD Sidley Austin Brown & Wood has elevated six D.C. associates to partner. Barbara Endres, 36, works in the corporate securities practice. She is a graduate of William & Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law. Michael Hunseder, 33, practices in the regulatory and economic litigation group. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. Juan Morillo, 34, focuses on civil, criminal, and constitutional litigation. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. Guy Neal, 35, works in the corporate reorganization and bankruptcy practice. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. Timothy Webster, 39, specializes in environmental law. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. David Woodward, 39, works in the intellectual property practice. He is a graduate of George Washington University Law School.
