As Santa Clara prosecutors pop champagne corks over their massive pay hike, Contra Costa district attorney candidates are taking aim at a pay system that they say drives young prosecutors away.
“It’s dismal for people coming into the office,” said civil attorney Matthew Guichard, one of five contenders on Tuesday’s ballot.
