W hen online DVD rental service Netflix Inc. tried to go public two years ago, the stock market wasn’t too kind to those who conducted business solely on the Internet.

Times have changed — sort of. While Internet IPOs still raise a few eyebrows among investors, Netflix’s backers found the waters warmer than they were two years ago.
