ALBANY – In a move that could impact land use lawyers throughout New York, officials are proposing to “streamline” the State Environmental Quality Review Act—the way it has gauged the impact of major development since the mid-1970s—partly by allowing more projects to skip review.
The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is circulating the proposal for public comment, Commissioner Basil Seggos said.
