The estate of a 76-year-old Middletown woman who died of injuries suffered in a two-car crash after hitting a deer on Route 9 in 2013 has agreed to a $265,000 settlement against two insurance carriers.

After spending the evening at a casino with a friend, Angela H. Vajda struck a deer in the early morning hours of Nov. 14, 2013. According to Clare E. Hannant, her attorney, Vajda left her car in the road as she got out of her vehicle to assess the damage. It is then that a car driven by Kofi Boateng struck Vajda’s vehicle, which then rolled into her. Vajda suffered head injuries and died about a month later.
