Replacements Ltd. is a Web-driven purveyor of china, crystal, silver and collectibles. General counsel Andrew Spainhour said the Greensboro, North Carolina-based company is the largest online retailer in its field with 10 million customers. The company was founded in 1981. With a 500,000-square-foot facility, it boasts the largest selection of “old and new” dinnerware — 12 million pieces in 400,000 patterns, some 100 years old.
“We have a store locally, but the vast majority of sales are online,” he said. The private company does not publicly state its revenue. The company employs 375, and the trend is “slightly down” over the past year.
