Dentons has added a partner in Hong Kong.

Jeffrey Chen was hired away from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, where he was a Hong Kong-based partner specializing in structured finance and securitization. He has a particular expertise in transactions involving derivatives and asset-backed securities and loans.

Chen had been with Cadwalader for three years, joining from Mayer Brown JSM. The former Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw hired him as a partner in 2006 to help launch its Hong Kong office early the following year, before it ultimately merged with Johnson, Stokes & Master in 2008. Previously, he’d spent 15 years at Jones Day, becoming a partner in 2002.

Dentons now has 14 lawyers, including six partners, in Hong Kong. The firm has 2,600 lawyers worldwide.
